Swimming with Crossy Lad.

Bloody freezing morning and wasn’t in the mood for a swim but when Andy ‘Crossy Lad’ Cross gives you a call up then the pool it is. Once again very quiet with most either at the Gold Coast, crying off due to the cold or even down in the Snowies (Pete Walker).
Crossy hasn’t been swimming much either so I thought I may have a chance to hold on for the series of 300s that we decided on doing. Pretty much did so for the first rep coming in on 4.54 (Crossy 4.48) but struggled therefore after.
Times drifted out and was buggered by the end but happy to have got the session done to end a productive week.
Some talent is Crossy, very good on the run and his bike leg is strong and when he gets his swim right then you can see why he’s very much in the mix when the tri’s roll around.
Didn’t know he had a twin mind you who is also into Triathlon, Looks like Eastern Suburb Sunday Run girl Eloise  actually caught up with him at the Gold Coast ? check out the pics.

So the big Goldie weekend has arrived with all the team up north. Here are a few times and predictions that I think some will run ( Won’t do everyone as I don’t want to heap extra pressure on them)

HuRTS #1 Barts – Half Marathon 70.55
                     C.T      Half Marathon   72.09
                    Enda  Half Marathon    75.02
                    PLOD Half Marathon    77.23
                    Angus Half Marathon   78.42
                 Jeet   - Half Marathon     80.34

               Tom – Full Marathon   2.29:46
               Biggsy  Full Marathon   2.58:48
               Birchy Full Marathon    3.09:57
               Sonya   Full Marathon  3.12:03
Sweaty Full Marathon  3.38:33 (not fit but only going because he has scored good roommates)

Other predictions – Tom to be carried out to his waiting taxi by 6.15Pm, Enda to come up with an excuse NOT to pay out C.T, Birch to ‘Go Fat Early’ and the girls Sonii, Corky and Laura to outlast everyone in the nightclubs J

Best of luck to everyone racing and look forward to some PBs and me being proved wrong on the above times.

I’ll be stuck at home and will need to get out for a run or two over the weekend, may have to give the Taffy Lad a bell to get him out for a few ks. Although got a few drinks and parties to attend first so that could be in limbo.

Have a great weekend
Race and Train well
Cheers

Machine Man Crossy - Duathlon Champion and swims OK as well (for an Englishman)

...and his NOT so strong twin who thought it may be easier to represent the Kiwi's. Seen here in the Gold Coast with Eastern Suburbs Sunday Girl Eloise.
Looks like they still both use the same barbers though?
